This past fall, our athletics teams implemented a new “no ball” policy that ensured players were putting the student first in student athlete. Students who are passing all courses are allowed to participate in athletics. One team that excelled well with this endeavor was the volleyball team. Coaches Paige Jefferson and Ciara Perry implemented team bonding and study days before mastery assessments to ensure the success of the team.
“One cannot be successful on the court if they are not successful in the classroom,” Head Coach Paige Jefferson said. “Study tables reinforce this theory and give athletes the chance to stay focused on their academics and further their educational experience.”
